Re.In the services
hi sudheer ,
i have started the autofs service.. but when i tried to start
the haldaemon its showing an error message that :
haldaemon failed.
The error was: Starting HAL daemon: [FAILED]
how should i proceed further??
Did you receive the error
Did you receive the error message when you started haldaemon from the Service Configuration window?
Try restarting the haldaemon manually
/etc/init.d/haldaemon restartAs root, invoke ntsysv and enable the haldeamon. Restart your computer and see if it fixes the problem.

not suceeded
got this error message
[root@localhost ~]# /etc/init.d/haldaemon restart
Stopping HAL daemon: [FAILED]
Starting HAL daemon: [FAILED]
i tried with ntsysv
still i get the same error message.. but when i check in that terminal window the haldaemon is already checked (enabled)
Is messagebus service
Is messagebus service running? If not, start the messagebus service and then try to start haldaemon.

It appears that you did not
It appears that you did not unmount the drive before disconnecting it last time. Restart your computer and report back what happens. Before you unplug the drive make sure you are unmounting it. To unmount the device, right click on the device icon and click Unmount.
With warm regards,
Sudheer
